Frequently asked questions

Answers on the GetRestaurantWebsite offer: what is included, revisions, articles, the AI Engine, hosting, domains, moving your current site and billing.

The offer

What do I actually get for the monthly fee?

A fully managed, custom-coded website for your restaurant: a menu page built for a phone, hours and location pages, reservation and ordering links to the platforms you already use, weekly detail updates, managed hosting and a client portal. The Full Menu adds the AI Engine and The Tasting Menu adds the Content Engine on top of everything in The Daily Menu.

How long until my restaurant's site is live?

7 days on The Daily Menu, 10 on The Full Menu while the AI agents are trained, and 15 on The Tasting Menu with the content engine running. The clock starts at the onboarding call, not at purchase, so the sooner the form is in, the sooner the menu is live.

Do you write our menu descriptions or set our prices?

No. We build and format the menu page, its sections, its layout and the place dietary marks and availability live. The dish names, descriptions, prices and any allergen or ingredient disclosures come from you. We are a website design and management company, not a restaurant, caterer, food safety authority or licensing body, and we never advise on what that information should say.

Getting started

What happens right after I buy?

You fill in the onboarding form and submit it. It asks for your menu, your hours, your locations, your brand, your domain and where enquiries should land, and it takes about 15 minutes. If something is missing, submit anyway: you can send the rest by email or raise it as a ticket in your client portal, and it will not hold up the build. We then run one onboarding call to fill any gaps and agree the launch date.

What is the client portal?

It is your account with us, and you get it the day your site goes live. From the portal you request revisions, raise a support ticket for anything that needs attention, send us files you still owe us like a new menu PDF or updated photos, and message our team directly. You never log in to the website itself; we handle that side.

Do I need professional photos before we start?

No. Send whatever photos you have and we work with them; the site can launch with a smaller set and grow as better photography comes in. A photo swap later is a normal revision, not a separate project.

Revisions and the client portal

What counts as a revision, and what happens after five?

A revision is any change request you send, and there is no limit on how much goes into one. A seasonal menu swap, a new location page, an updated wine list, a holiday closure notice: each is one revision, no matter the size. "Rebuild the whole tasting menu page, here is the new copy" is one revision, not several. 5 are included every month. After the fifth, each additional revision is a flat $20, with no cap on how many you can buy and no hourly billing anywhere. Every revision is completed within 2 to 5 working days of you sending it, whatever the size.

How do I actually request a menu or hours change?

Raise it in your client portal. You describe the change, attach anything we need like a new menu PDF or a photo, and it lands with the team as a tracked request so you can see where it is. You can also email us and we log it for you. Unused revisions do not roll over to the next month.

Can a revision be a full rebrand or a brand new tasting menu?

Yes. A revision has no size limit, so a full rebrand, a new seasonal tasting menu with new photography, or a rebuilt wine list all count as one revision each, not a project quote. It still lands within the standard 2 to 5 working day turnaround.

Articles

What do the researched articles actually cover?

Articles are researched pieces built around your restaurant, your menu and your neighborhood, the kind of thing a potential guest searches before choosing where to eat. They run 2,500 to 3,200 words, published 2 times a week on The Daily Menu and The Full Menu, and 3 times a week on The Tasting Menu.

Do the articles replace our own blog or press mentions?

They add to whatever press or mentions you already have; they do not remove anything. Articles link back to your menu, location and reservation pages so search traffic has somewhere useful to land, and they run alongside any existing coverage rather than replacing it.

The AI Engine

What does the AI Engine actually do for a restaurant?

It adds an AI receptionist and site chat trained on your hours, menu and policies, so the questions your host stand answers all day, like whether you take reservations or if there is parking, get answered instantly online and hand off to a person for anything it cannot resolve. It runs on the site chat plus SMS, Messenger and Instagram.

Will the AI Engine give food safety or allergen advice to guests?

No. It answers general questions about hours, location, reservations and the menu as published, then routes any food safety, allergen or nutrition question straight to your team. We do not train it to give that advice, and it is not a substitute for your own staff on those questions.

Hosting and management

Is hosting an extra cost?

No. Hosting is included in the monthly fee and never billed separately. Your site runs on Cloudflare's global network with SSL, CDN, DDoS protection and unmetered bandwidth included, so a weekend rush of traffic from a good review never triggers a bandwidth overage charge.

Who manages the site day to day?

We do. Nobody at your restaurant needs to log in to the website, install an update or manage a plugin. You request changes through your client portal and we make them; uptime, security and hosting are handled on our side.

Domains

Do I have to pay for a domain?

No. One domain is included free for as long as your plan is active, registered in your name through Cloudflare Registrar or Spaceship, so you own it outright. If you already have a domain we point it at the new site instead and nothing changes for guests who know your current address. If you ever leave, tell us where to send the domain and we transfer it at no charge.

Can we keep our current domain if we already have one?

Yes. Tell us your existing domain during onboarding and we point it at the new site instead of registering a new one. Nothing changes for guests who already search for or bookmark your current address.

Moving from your current site

We only have a menu PDF and a page builder site. Can you still migrate us?

Yes. We rebuild the pages, menu items and photos worth keeping as a real, structured site, then set up redirects from your old page addresses so search rankings and bookmarks carry over. A menu PDF becomes a proper menu page rather than a downloadable file.

Will we lose our current search rankings during the move?

We aim not to. Every page from your old site that had a working address gets a redirect to its new equivalent, so search engines and anyone who bookmarked a page land on the right content instead of a broken link.

Billing and cancellation

What do I actually pay, and when?

You pay the monthly fee for the plan you choose up front: $117 on The Daily Menu, $247 plus AI usage on The Full Menu, or $597 a month on The Tasting Menu. The $647 one-time build fee is invoiced only after your site is live and you have approved it. Domain and hosting are inside the monthly figure.

How do I cancel, and how much notice do you need?

Email us and say you want to cancel. Your message must reach us at least 2 business days before your next invoice date, during business hours, which are 9:00 to 17:00 Central Time, Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays. A message sent outside those hours counts from the start of the next business day, so a weekend email does not give 2 business days of notice for an invoice due Monday or Tuesday. With valid notice, no further invoice is raised and your site runs to the end of the month you have paid for.

Do you offer refunds?

No. All sales are final, and that includes monthly fees, the build fee, extra revisions and any cost we pass through at what our providers charge us. We do not refund for a change of mind or for a month you did not use. The one exception is a duplicate or incorrect charge made by our billing: tell us within 30 days and we correct it within 10 working days. The build fee is charged only after you have approved your site, which is exactly why it is not refundable afterward.
